Landlords will find fitting LED lightbulbs is an easy way to make properties more energy efficient, something that could encourage tenants to sign leases and stay longer.
Nigel Berman, founder and managing director of Nigel's Eco Store, explained that while they do cost more than traditional bulbs, they will pay for themselves in the long term.
"They use around 80 per cent less energy than conventional incandescent bulbs and around 30 per cent less energy than compact fluorescent lamp energy saving bulbs," he commented.
Because LED bulbs also last for 30,000 hours, buy to let property owners will also not have to change them each time new tenants move in.
Ian Hall from Granada Secondary Glazing recently said that organisations and members of the public are getting more aware of saving natural resources and money by cutting the amount of energy they use, so LED bulbs may be a great way to attract them to rent a house or flat.
